That was back from 1973 to 1979 in Austin, Texas.
We even had a haunted bathroom upstairs.

|
There was something in the bathroom that didn't like company, really.
It would breathe down you neck, or touch you.
We never went up there.
We had a bigger downstairs bathroom.
It was creepy in the bathroom.
People would come flying down the stairs, really fast.
It was funny at the time.
It was a wonder nobody ever got hurt coming down the stairs.

The down stairs ghost was nice, she just floated around every once in awhile.
Sometimes she would make noise in the kitchen, we think it was her.
Live and let live.
The animals knew she was there even if we couldn't see her.
We put her a rocking chair in the living room, in the corner.

Edited on Tue Sep-01-09 04:35 AM by AllenVanAllen
I stayed a week in a civil war era house in NJ alone. I heard a lot of weird shit and several lights went on by themselves, sometimes in the middle of the night and sometimes in the room I was almost asleep in. I was never really scared so much as inconvenienced. "Ok, now I have to get up and turn that light off." :)

|
The same family owned the land and house for many years.
The house started small but was built on over the years.
The downstairs ghost was a young woman who died in childbirth about 1902.
That is why we gave her a rocking chair.

31. There's four or five bottles of dark stout at the back of my fridge. Help yourself. |
|
But be careful: the fridge is really cold and it's possible a bottle or two has frozen and broken
If you prefer, there's a few bottles of warm beer under the kitchen table -- Coronito and Guinness, I think. I'd get them myself, but if I do, I'm likely to fall asleep there and bang my head on the table when I sit up in the morning
I think I'll just go back to sleep on the floor here. It's safer: even though the whole world is tipping back and forth, I can't fall off

somewhere... I'm feeling a little guilty about the water use, so I've decided to move the fish to the other pond. Hopefully, neither casualties nor hilarity will ensue....

57. the ponds/fish really are lovely - this is the first real "snag" we've run into.... |
|
Thank you for the offer - I think I have to take you up on the pizza...
No, instead of beer and pizza, I have a leaky pond and fire ants --- (the latter being the reason for my unreasonable amount of alertness - and one fish (even more alert than I am) has decided to prove how much smarter he is, too. (argh).
Can fire ants get drunk I wonder? Mess up their little pheromone plans a little.... hm. I think I'll just put off thinking about them until tomorrow.
I just hope the fish end up happy and healthy (and get along in the big pond)...
Put one in! The labor/maintenance factor is minute (except for digging/building the pond, but that's a one time effort. There is nothing like the sound of a waterfall, too... or even a little circulating stream. Koi seem to know they're more expensive, and end up being the only one's we've lost. The .85 cent goldfish from Wal-mart is about 8-9 inches long and thoroughly indestructible (has the scars to prove it, too). : )

It is to hot in the summer to dig anything.
I have been looking at books, getting ideas.
Rocks I get for free from my land, pretty ones .
I want the pond to be really nice and natural looking.
Cheap goldfish are the way to go.
Maybe some water plants.

|
Is nice, mellow - gives me a great appetite (i've got stomach issues) natural, goes great with good tv, movies, comedy, theme parks, hiking, etc - I just wish it was legal here - I think that leads to a lot of the paranoia people feel when smoking weed. I prefer to cook with it or use a vaporizer so i don't damage my lungs. Alcohol is shit by comparison IMO. A glass of wine or two is nice, but more than that and people seem to turn into obnoxious annoying assholes.. don't see that with weed.. think i'll just smoke this little bit here and call it a night.. night.. :)
