On the subject of college textbooks...
does anyone have any info/feedback on Chegg.com?

For those who never heard of this site, they rent college textbooks for a semester (and even plant a tree for every book that is rented). I would venture to guess that most students want to keep the texts that are related to their area of study, however, there are always a few texts that will never be opened again!

3. I rented a computer book this semester.
It cost me under $13 with shipping, and they include a return label. The latest editions aren't as cheap; luckily my prof accepted the 5th vs the 6th edition (a 2 page difference---what a ripoff) They also plant a tree for every book you rent. I'll try and use them every semester.

5. Thanks!
How long did the shipping take? Also, how much more was the latest edition?

It is incredible that some classes require the latest edition when there really isn't that much of a difference from the previous edition (as in your case). I can, however, understand if it is a subject matter that is continually changing. Since the college library usually has the latest edition of the text, it would make sense to save money by purchasing the older edition and copying the new info from the latest edition. Of course you never know if someone has checked out the book!

:hi:

6. I used it and it worked with no trouble
All I had to do was print out the return label on time and ship it right back. And there's a tree in central America with my name on it! I'd recommend them.

7. I have never, in my life, been able to sell a book once I owned it.
That's just me.

My kids, particularly my little guy, love to read those texts, by the way. I'm glad I've got 'em, and I still often open them to refer to this or that.
