1. Looks like they might have used "CoffeeCup Web Jukebox"...
...you basically point to a folder or individual files and the program generates the jukebox for you. There are a number of jukebox "skins" to choose from. CoffeeCup claims it's not a matter of copyright infringement because visitors can't access / download the songs...it's the same as streaming radio like "Shoutcast." I've put jukeboxes together on occasion, uploaded them to my Web Site, and emailed the links to friends.

Swish (the Flash program for people who don't want to take the time to learn Flash) also has a similar program, Swish Jukebox:

So they probably used one of the two programs.

5. That's the part they gloss over
That's what drove Pandora to its "99 cents if you go over 40 hours per month" plan...they couldn't maintain a free, unlimited service and pay the record companies too.

The record companies are going to go after people who are uploading actual MP3 / FLAC files that can be downloaded / shared before they'll do anything about the "jukebox" posts, but if it were discovered, the person who posted it would probably receive a tersely-worded "cease & desist" letter via their ISP.

6. Interesting
I just got hit with a $20 royalty fee from Sirius for their broadcasts. So it would seem they are cracking down on royalty issues. Either that or I am enjoying the fruits of the monopoly labors that were bless by the government (under Bush).
