1. Night of the Living Dead set the standard for zombie movies but
Dawn of the Dead is a deeper story and the better movie.

2. Dawn of the Dead was also
THE midnight movie fare in high school and early college days for myself and my buds. I think we went every Friday or Saturday night it was shown in the old "dollar cinemas". We went for the camp-factor and to anticipate the lines. Good fun all around :D

4. hate to jump on the bandwagon, but....
Dawn truly was the best.

I didn't care for the remake......except for the "capping celebrity look-a-likes" scene

got to admit that was pretty funny

5. I'm going to go with Day
It did not reach the level of social commentary of either Night or Dawn but it burned with an intensity the others missed. The build up of tension is relentless and ,IMHO, the script is much tighter. The characters seem much more fleshed out with lots of shades of gray going on. It is not as clear as "zombies bad" "survivors good". It touched on it in Night and almost got there in Dawn but in Day, it is almost the only focus, you get to know each player up close and have a good feel for their motivations and how the isolation twists them. Plus, Joe Pilato gives one of the best performances ever in a zombie movie as Rhodes :D

6. For your listening pleasure, the end of Dawn Of The Dead.
Every time I go to a mall, that dum-dum muzak pops into my head.
