1. way easier to pick the worst than the best
Diary of the Dead is just kinda "eh"

Night is legendary
Dawn has the social commentary
Day has Bub
Land is cool because it shows the Zombies are starting to evolve

4. See, I watched Diary the other night...
... and although I think they over-played the moral conflict about killing zombies, I though the story and the way it was done was pretty decent.

Land on the other hand was a floating turd the whole way through. Dumb story, dumb characters, dumb ending, etc. It's the one zombie movie I think Romero over-reached on. By trying to throw so much social commentary in there, he ended up half-assing the actual zombie story.

8. "Day has Bub"

Bub was very cool but this movie has a lot more to offer. The opening scene in Florida for instance, to me that was just classic horror film making.

"Forget it this is a dead place, listen... you can hear them over the engines..."

It's worth several watches imo.

2. I voted for "Diary." I liked some of the imagery, such as the upsidedown globe,
but I like to clearly see the zombies. Some of the camera work was a bit distracting during the best scenes.

3. "Diary of the Dead" was SO FUCKING BAD...
...it was as if Romero had nothing to do with it at all.

I watched the "DVD extras" in which he mentioned the major studio, bigger budget, etc. on "Land Of The Dead" (which I loved).

BUT..."Diary of the Dead" didn't suck because of the budget.

It sucked BECAUSE IT SUCKED.

God, what an awful movie. Romero does "Blair Witch Project."

:puke:

5. I thought it was actually quite prescient with it's comments about...
... individual created media being more reliable than major outlets. Juxtapose that next to the events that took place in Iran a few months ago. Individual coverage was far more valuable than anything put out by the media. The same thing happened in Diary.

The camera work was trying, but overall I would place it slightly ahead of Day and miles ahead of that shit stain Land.

6. "Land" was the "Citizen Kane" of modern "living dead" flicks
"Day," I believe, was W-A-Y too subtle, especially following "Dawn." The movie's had a bit of a Renaissance on DVD, but as the final chapter of the original "triology," many felt that it missed the mark.

7. Land is my least favorite.
Color me revolutionary, but I don't think zombies could learn demolition skills. And as someone warned many a moon ago, be wary of any movie with Dennis Hopper wearing a goatee.

I didn't mind Diary, but it was far from great. And the trouble with the gimmick of filming through the eyes of the participants using cams always raises the question of why they keep filming as their friends get offed in front of them. Quarantine, Cloverfield and some other low budget flicks use the same plot device, and it's iffy at best...and getting old already.

Even though the last two were mediocre I still can't wait to see the new one. :)
