I'm often home-bound, or worse, bedridden. It's not good either way.

I just bought a new manual wheelchair. It was on sale, and it's smaller and easier to manage than my old one. It fits in the trunk of a car much more easily. So now I can get around more easily and bring a chair with me. :)

I think a whole lot of people know that you do Real activism. You build up organizations, network with people to make positive things happen, train people to develop their skills so they become activists in their own right, get public officials on our side when possible, get media attention for our causes, and you do it all well!

I miss being in the thick of activism. It has a way of taking over your life and defining you, but it's incredibly worthwhile and fulfilling, as you know. I can't tell you how happy I am when I get to know the people who are activists today. I love knowing that people are out there living the life and getting it all done. I still vicariously consider activists "my people," even though I'm sure I'm an outsider now after all these years.

If the phone bank is basically in my neighborhood, and all they need is for me to read a script for a few hours, as long as they have large print available for me I'll be there if I can. :)

Pathetic. How is that activism or promoting LGBT equality? I wonder what the excuse will be this time for the creation of another forum to trash DU. Granted, unique ideas were never their forte, but constantly playing the victim always seems to work to their advantage in the short-term.
