Tonight on the turntable: Cream - "Disraeli Gears"

Saw the great documentary "Tom Dowd and the Language of Music" the other night on the Fuse channel. Dowd engineered countless classc albums, and I have been mining my collection, CD and vinyl, for the very best.

This is tonight's selection.

1. One of the great albums of the 60s.
Has to be listened to on vinyl.

Excellent choice
Always preferred side two ( Start with "Tales of Brave Ulysses")
Plus the vinyl album looks great under black light

Oh, and if you don't have the reunion concert album from last year, it's a must have.

6. Hard to choose a side
But I grant you side two has its gems - "SWLABR" and "Outside Woman Blues"- the old Blind Joe Reynolds song.

I haven't heard the reunion album, but on DirecTV, a channel called Palladium played a concert from that tour in HD, which I saw a few months ago. I wonder if it's the same show.

8. Nice Betsy.
Both you and the music have stood the test of time. :hi:

First musical argument I ever got into was wit my 6th grade science teacher. I swore up and down that the band was called Disraeli Gears and the album was Cream. I remember him just smiling at me and shaking his head. That weekend I went and bought the album and man was I embarrassed! :P

7. I've been listening to Radiohead and thinking Thom Yorke sounds a lot like Jack Bruce
though I think Jack Bruce has more range.

Falsetto is a strange way to sing, if you ask me. But I like the way Bruce does it.
