2. She's Also An Excellent Actress. |
|
Check her out in Ang Lee's under-appreciated Civil War flick, "Ride With The Devil."

3. my niece was going to Tarleton State University |
|
when Jewel moved to Stephenville. Jewel did a show there. The audience was singing along with a well known song, as concert audiences will do when Jewel stopped singing and said for everyone else to please not sing. She felt that people had come there to hear her and not the audience so she demanded that no one else sing along with her songs.
She lost a lot of Tarleton fans that day for sure. They declared her a total egotistical witch.

5. Actually, I have played in places where there was so much interference |
|
from the audience, it was hardly worth playing in, and told people to quiet down. I have also been in an audience where sevral people at a table in front of the stage were having loud, laughing conversations while a person was playing and singing on stage, and I am angered by their assholishness to this day, 30 years later.
If I had paid to hear Jewel perform live, I wouldn't want to hear the voices of the local drunken jerks drowning her out.
Andres Segovia was famous for sitting sliently waiting for his concert audiences to shut up - I saw him do it, and I respect him for it.
