Keeping myself sane,
I am enjoying the hummingbird migration. Sitting outside and watching the little ones actually calms me down.

13. Those talons have been around for a long time :-)
I suppose they are like that to really secure their light weight bodies on a perch when they want to rest. Thanks for the comments. :hi:

but I have such a fondness for hummingbirds, I just love all of these.

You know, the whole time I was living in Texas (I have moved now) I only saw one ruby throat, and I think he was just passing through. We mostly had the black chins. I am in Alabama now, so I am seeing plenty of ruby throats here! In fact that is the only species we get.
