1. Probably burgers, potato salad that I made this afternoon, and maybe
a small tossed salad.

3. I've been cooking an
Italian Sunday Gravy all day with chuck roast. It tastes wonderful. I have some homemade bread rising and will make a green salad with homemade vinaigrette.

5. I use this recipe

http://elise.com/recipes/archives/004316italian_pot_roast.php

but I leave out the celery and replace the sage with crushed fennel seed. I also add some basil in addition to the parsley (have the amounts if you are using dried.) Once it comes to a boil, I put it in my large crock pot, which I've been pre-heating and cook it for 5-6 hours. I remove the meat a stir in 2-3 small cans of tomato paste, put the meat back in and turn the crock pot down to the warm setting or just turn it off until I have the rest of dinner ready. It's really better if you cook it the day before you need it which I am doing for company tomorrow, but husband wanted some tonight, too. Solves the problem of what to feed him tonight.

It really is incredibly good. :hi:

8. chicken breasts in white wine sauce
a recipe from my mother modified to use real ingredients instead of canned "cream of" soup and to be done in the crock pot for two reasons; 1) it's hot and, 2) my oven is a haunted, irrational, POS and I am sick of dealing with it.

This will be served on rice with a tossed salad and fresh bread (using the bread machine - see note about oven above)

I had some peaches that I was going to do something with for desert but I see now they are all gone. sigh

10. Jambalaya from the pre-made soup section
French bread, salad (packaged mix), Ben & Jerry's New York Super Fudge Chunk.

By decades-long bachelor standards, a veritable banquet!

15. What's spiral ham, greenbriar?
I apologize in advance for my ignorance.
We're having "Grampa Chicken," my late father's fried chicken recipe (skin the pieces, roll em around in a flour and spices mixture, let em chill for an hour then fry in a shallow pan.)
And my red skinned potato, sour cream, green onions and salted cucumber salad. Probably some nice tomatoes and asparagus as well.
Cheers.
