The two most overrated national "Sports Bar" type places |
|
Hooters and Buffalo Wild Wings. Crappy food, not real comfortable seating, lousy service and overpriced. Those two chains have it all.

1. Never been to Buffalo Wild Wings, but Hooters sucks in my opinion |
|
food is way overrated, and I can get wings ten times better at bars within two miles from where I live.

2. The food at BWW isn't that bad. |
|
You're right about everything else though.
Hooter's is the worst. The food is horrible, the service is horrible, the seats are awful, and it's expensive as hell. I know you're supposed to go for the scenery, but it's not worth it by a long shot.
All things being equal, I would go to BWW. I can't stand the disingenuous "flirting" the waitresses do at Hooters (and I'm saying that as a straight male).

7. Yeah the "flirting" is just annoying |
|
I can't stand people who I can tell are being fake for money.
If I wanted scenery I'd go to a strip club. I don't and I've never been to a strip club. I don't pay people to lie to me, I get more than enough of that in my daily life for free.

4. Hooters food sucks and is overpriced. |

As a straight male I love to see beautiful women as much as the next guy. However one must be hard up if they have to go to Hooters for this.

I believe it'd have made your list if you had...complete ripoff.

But a friend told me the same thing you did. So the next time I'm in Chicago, no ESPN Zone.

8. I've been to the ones in Baltimore and DC. |
|
The Baltimore one wasn't bad, the food was a bit more expensive than it should have been but it was pretty damn good. The DC one is a disaster, despite being a first-class facility vastly superior to the Baltimore one. I wouldn't set foot in that place again even to ask directions.

a butt load to have said blast, but it was fun.

17. Man, did I have a miserable time there. |
|
I'm glad it worked out for you, but the only thing I found favorable was Sierra Nevada Pale on tap.
I did have a decent time there once, on Thanksgiving Day in 2003 or so when I sat in one of the loungers up front, but the place was practically empty. I've found that the bigger the crowd, the worse the time.
Actually, I prefer Harry's across the street. Better food, better bang for the buck, almost as conducive to watching a sporting event (unless you're a soccer fan).

but Buffalo Wild Wings was awful. Lousy, overpriced food, and all those TV screens were extremely distracting. I'll never go back. I have never set foot in a Hooters. The name alone tells you that the price of the entrees has been bumped up several dollars just for the privilege of staring at boobies in tight t-shirts.

that all sports type bars are overrated. Only been to Hooters once because I love hot wings but was disappointed in the wings and the fact that they use a cheap bleu cheese dressing pre-packaged in little cups.
There's a local chain in the Columbus, Ohio area called Roosters who's wings are totally out of this world. I don't do such a bad job at home, either, since I've had to due to moving far far away from there.
