The flash lights have really bright beams that seem to go for miles.

Now in real life, the batteries are always dead or the flash light is broken.

1. The latter events only apply in horror movies

The rest of the time, everything always works perfectly. People don't want true realism, yanno :P

2. That's because they don't film TV shows or movies in my house.
I've got at least four dozen flashlights and even more tape measures and I'll be damned if I can ever find one when I need it. If I do find a flashlight, the battery is dead or the bulb is burned out. I keep a shitload of batteries on hand so that's not a big problem. I've got a lot of bulbs, but can never find them either. Reality sucks.

4. Standard movie nonsense.
Ever notice everyone in movies carry empty suitcases
and warehouses are filled with empty boxes?

15. Any fight scene in any storage area
and there's never anything other than air being stored in those boxes, barrels, or crates. Maybe they're all there waiting to be filled :P

5. Good morning, texanwitch! Next time I have a little spare cash, going to
buy a windup flashlight and lantern, no battery required and great hurricane prep.

:-)

6. The 'flashlight' factor is no where near as unrealistic
as the fact that no matter how little information the individual may have or how vast the relevant area may be, the individual ALWAYS shows up at THE EXACT point in time and space to find what ever or who ever (even a complete stranger they never met) they need to find. And don't get me started on their ability to make a positive identification on someone based solely upon a truly grainy photo where all you can discern is the general body build and hair color.

Hell, that never happens to me in real life even if I know the person I'm going to meet, the exact spot we're supposed to meet at, and the time (WITH our watches sychronized in advance).

7. Ever notice in tv & movies that people only ever rarely use the bathroom?
Or how rarely they use flashlights in the bathroom?

8. I love my metal LED flashlights.
They are a lot more reliable than any flashlight I've ever owned.

9. What cracks me up is how on all the CSI type shows
(which I love) whenever they enter a suspect building, they ALWAYS use their flashlights to look around. I keep thinking that none of them have ever heard of a light switch. Just turn on the damn lights!

10. That's a GREAT company! Wow...
I think that's the same manufacturer of those wonderful computers that take less than second to fully boot up.

11. Flashlights are merely containers in which to store dead batteries.
But apparently Hollywood doesn't know that. And they also think that:

You will always be able to find a parking spot right in front of the place you want to go.

You will not have to fumble with your car keys to unlock and start your car when running from or chasing bad guys.

Nobody ever has to go to the bathroom.

Nobody has pets, and nobody ever steps in dog poo.

13. Except when you are hiding from the bad guy.
That's when all t.v. cellphones need to be recharged.

14. And they're always kept in a drawer near
the ice buckets that are perpetually full of ice. Everyone's used flashlights, but I don't think I even know anyone who uses an ice bucket.
