Pipin' hot and delish' - served in a bowl with veggies. Full of protein, complex carbohydrates and 100% YUM.

8. Only if you buy it in a grocery store. Get it bulk at a natural foods store.
And I don't mean a chain store.

4. It's good stuff, kind of buttery and nutty--also, about as easy as rice
to make. I like to put onion, black pepper and olive oil in, and that's about it. (It really doesn't need much in the way of "fixing.")

6. I like to add a handful of sesame seeds about half way through the cooking.
The oils come out and add an amazing flavor; as well as copper and other sesame goodies.

9. My wife made stuffed peppers two nights ago - couldn't find brown rice - QUINOA!
They were the best damn peppers I've ever had. Rice can get kind of dry. The quinoa was moist and delicious.

It makes an awesome thickener for stews and soups. Put it in about an hour before you expect the soup to be done (earlier in a crock pot) and let it cook until it has completely dissolved and all you can see are the little white outer rings floating around. Best thickener there is - and a nutritious one at that!

13. My husband put some the in rice cooker yesterday with black lentils, kale, sundried
tomatoes, green garbanzos, asparagus, artichoke hearts, onion, garlic and herbs. Then he dressed it with some olive oil, lemon juice, salt and pepper.

It was FANTASTIC! And talk about a nutritional powerhouse.

17. I like it Tex-Mex style...
Add some sauteed onions. garlic and maybe bell pepper, Rotel tomatoes and chiles, and black beans. Top it with some sharp cheddar or Mexican blend cheese.

Olive oil and lemon juice mixed with chopped garlic is one of the best dressings on the planet! Delicious on steamed veggies.

right near the Capitol, too, where I was often to be found around midday.

Now I have to find one here. :(

25. Mix it with chicken strips, red and yellow pepper
sliced onion and basil and garlic.

Delicious and colorful.

Oh, and instead of cooking in water, I use Chicken stock.
