But false rape accusations are also dangerous, they lead to a "crying wolf" mentality among jurors that makes it harder to convict rapists, and rape is already one of the hardest violent crimes to to prove because it's usually down to "he-said, she-said".

This does raise a practical problem. We are being forced to spend time, money and effort countering lies from the right. We don't want to lose what credibility we still have (because their lies do damage us) by making shit up. So what can we do to take the fight to the enemy? Frankly discrediting them by telling the truth is not going to work because 1. they have the media megaphone so we won't be heard anyway. Even if we are heard 2. it will be forgotten in the din of RW repetition. Besides, 3. a lot of people will assume we are making shit up the same way as the right is and will simply say we are all just as bad.
