Woo hoo! The Royal Mail is working again!

I actually don't use in very often, since there aren't any post boxes convenient to me here in central North Carolina, but I ordered a photo-print of Otto Lilienthal gracefully dangling in mid-flight from his biplane glider, taken in 1896 by one of my heroes, the American physicist RW Wood, author of the much acclaimed How to Tell the Birds from the Flowers -- and it has arrived at my digs, with notations indicating dutiful handling by the Royal Mail. Everyone in 1900 who was interested in flight used Lilienthal's book

It's going near a piece of African art, opposite a pictograph of a Viking ship
