Ellen DeGeneres Replacing Paula Abdul on Idol
Ellen DeGeneres is taking Paula Abdul's place as the fourth judge on American Idol. "DeGeneres will sit alongside Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi and offer her own unique perspective to the contestants throughout the competition," Fox television says in a statement.

DeGeneres, 51, begins after the audition rounds, which are featuring celebrity guest judges. "I'm going to have a day job and a night job," DeGeneres said at her talk show taping Wedneday, assuring her audience that The Ellen DeGeneres Show will continue. "This is so exciting for me."

Abdul abruptly announced in August, just before the start of American Idol's ninth season, that with "sadness in my heart" she was leaving the highly rated show hosted by Ryan Seacrest.

1. All I know is, I liked the 5th season of her sitcom...
It was NOT "too gay" like how Diane Sawyer claimed (watch the episode where she's a DJ, for example, it's freakin' hilarious and heteros wouldn't be bothered by it either!)

Wish it was out on DVD...

Interesting choice.

A good choice; she doesn't seem the type that would thrust out nasty insults like how Simon Coward does.

We'll see what happens.

3. She'll steal the show.
People will tune in to watch her who don't like Simon.

4. Exactly. I loathe the show, but I do want to see what she does.
So FOX will have another viewer for at least one week. :)
