Why do cats like to sit on your computer?
If it want to keep working, I have to move a cat every 15 minutes.

:grr:

1. It's more like 5 seconds here.
And there she goes again for the zillionth time.

It's not just the computer. Before I had one, the cat would sit on my papers or go after my pen/pencil endlessly.

It's like having a toddler.

2. Ever tried reading with a cat around?
Same deal. They want you to pay attention to THEM. Of course once you do, they run away..

4. Yup - especially everytime I did homework in college!
The cats would lay all over my books.

6. see my solution below
I give the cat a large piece of paper or a book or something to sit on next to the one I am actually reading.

5. I found a solution - my cats likes keyboards and books (or whatever I am trying to use)
I put a large paper envelope next to me, and he sits on it fairly contentedly. I've actually thought about making him a cat bed from an old dictionary. Maybe the same could be done with a broken laptop.

7. I do that sometimes with the junk mail.
But after awhile since I'm not looking at it, they leave and try to sit on the computer/book again...

8. A cat?
Try a 70 pound dog. After about 20 minutes, she figures I'm paying too much attention to the computer and not enough to her, so she 'corrects' my oversight by just pushing her way onto my lap regardless of what happens to the laptop. And, if I'm on the PC, she just plops up on my lap on the chair which pushes me so far away from the computer, I can't reach the keyboard or the mouse.

9. My cat's the same way whether it's laptop or desktop.
I use my desktop mostly and he will hop up on the desk and lie down in front of the monitor. Luckily there is enough space and I don't usually have to move him.

Laptop is always a little more annoying.
