Does puppy prozac really work? |
|
My parents have three huge dogs, they are the alpha of the pack. (but that's another story that i have talked about tons of times)Anyway, every time it thundered in the past, the dogs would rip windows out, tear doors down and just start shredding things until the storm stops.
They accidently got the idea that if they let them have run of the house while they were gone..(they have a doggy door)that is would calm them down. And it worked, for about a month.
Now when it thunders they went back to goiong nuts just running around tearing down stuff. I'm no expert but the damage ranges in the thousands. (Would homeowners cover that?)
Would puppy prozac work? Anyone have any experience with it? These dogs are literally deappreciating the value of the house!

One of my "rescue" dogs was a mess when we got him. Drooling huge puddles, shedding coats, and howling so the neighbors from way down the block could hear him.
We were able to wean him off it fairly soon, used it at first for any extended absences, and then not at all.....
Get it. It's good for the dogs, good for you, and good for the house.
