Songs that were never as big as we think
Boomtown Rats, "I Don't Like Mondays". An iconic song, right? Topped out at #73 on the American charts (it did reach #1 in England, ireland, and Australia, though)

Echo & the Bunnymen's "The Killing Moon"? Didn't chart at all.

English Beat? Never charted in the US.

It's easy to forget just how out of it some of us who grew up on college radio really are in some ways. The same thing can probably be said for metal fans.

Lost some of my hearing because of that concert
