Michael Jordan question
Hey folks tomorrow night I have to work some OT and I have to work in our local Symphony Hall, now I'm told that Michael Jordan, David Robinson, John Stockton, Jerry Sloan and C. Vivian Stringer will be in town. Who are these people and why are they so important? I was told to report to the backstage area and to bring a package Haynes t-shirts.

1. Reminds me of my friend Bob Jackson.
Bob told me once that he was the most famous person in the world, and I told him that was silly. So he bet me five hundred bucks I couldn't find a person who didn't know him. I took him up on the bet. I asked the first person I saw--this was in Dallas--if they recognized Bob, who was standing beside me. They identified him immediately.

No matter who I asked, they knew him! I was stunned. So I said "Let's go to Europe and see what happens." Bob bought the tickets, and soon we were riding the trains, staying in hostels... Everywhere I went, I couldn't find one person who didn't know him.

So finally I said "I bet the Pope doesn't know you," and he just smirked. We took a train to Rome, and got into Vatican City, on Easter Sunday. Bob told me to wait outside, and he disappeared into the crowd. An hour later, the Pope steps out onto the balcony to give his Easter blessing. And right beside him is my friend, Bob Jackson!!

The crowd is cheering and chanting, and I turned to a little old woman next to me, determined to win my bet. "Excuse me, ma'am, but can you tell me who that man on the balcony is?"

She squinted up at the balcony, twisted her face in confusion, and said, "Why no, I have no idea who that is."

My heart leaped for joy! I did a little happy dance! And then she shook her head and said, "But whoever he is, he knows Bob Jackson."

7. All five are entering Basketball hall of fame
Edited on Fri Sep-11-09 01:08 AM by Brother Buzz
While Jordan is the star attraction, the Basketball Hall of Fame Class of 2009 includes a total of five outstanding players and coaches who are all receiving the attention they deserve. In addition to Jordan, David Robinson, Jerry Sloan, John Stockton and C. Vivian Stringer have made remarkable contributions to the game and will take their rightful place in the pantheon of Hall of Famers when they are inducted on Friday night at Symphony Hall.
