Why are there no toilets on the enterprise?

I saw this episode where Riker is in the bathroom and theres no toilet. Just a dresser drawer with water in it. Is that why Riker got so fat?

It's possible that Replicator food is configured in such a way as to be fully metabolized or else metabolized with only minimal waste byproducts. Of course, poo isn't entirely made of undigested food, so they'd still need a facility.

The "dresser drawer with water in it" is a vanity sink. The "head" is in an adjacent room not shown in the series but plainly depicted in the geek literature. I mean the official Technical Manuals.
