4. Rainbow Bridge - Great place to leave stories, memorials, etc.
I feel your pain. I believe we always have a small hole in our soul that nothing can fill until a beloved pet comes along. Are you familiar with Rainbow Bridge? The first time I read it after the loss of a pet, I cried my eyes out - it was so bittersweet for me--bitter in the loss, sweet to know our pet is whole and running free and that we will be reunited someday. Here is the poem, and a link to their site wher eyou can create a memorial, if you wish.

http://www.rainbowbridge.com/

RAINBOW BRIDGE: THE POEM (be forewarned - have a tissue handy - I can never read without crying)
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

5. I'm so sorry....
He was adorable. I know how hard it is. They can never be replaced, but I've found it helps to find another one to love. It seems to lessen the pain and loneliness.

6. Sounds like it must be time for a "new" boy!
I have lost quite a few of my "old boys" over the years. The pain is always with me but, so is the joy they brought into my life.

I have convinced myself that they only leave us to make room in our hearts and homes for another.

Your new boy is out there waiting for you in a shelter somewhere. Go find him. Your old boy would want it that way.

And don't for get to show us some pictures of the new kid!

7. aw

Grieve not,
nor speak of me with tears,
but laugh and talk of me
as if I were beside you.....
I loved you so --
'twas Heaven here with you.

10. He was adorable! I lost my last doggie over 15 yrs ago. I know how you feel
I have her picture here on my desk, and I still think about her everyday.

Another doggie or a kitty is out of the question.

I can't even give myself a good quality of life, much less provide it to anyone else. It'd be just cruel for me to bring a little life into this, as much I crave the love and company of a sweet, innocent, loving and loyal animal.
