Me & my GF have just been approved for a nice 2 b.r. apt.
She moved in with me a few weeks back, and with it came all her stuff. It's a LOT of stuff. The problem is, I'm in a smallish 1 b.r. place and I have my own pile o' stuff already. Besides, we're on the fringes of the 'hood, and it's getting downright dangerous here. Murders in the breezeways, armed robberies, the apts. across the street are a known drug pit, and the maintenance men here have practically stopped any sort of real upkeep of the units. Besides that, it's been almost a year since I've had genuinely hot water...

The new place is in a nice neighborhood, across the street from a park. It's well maintained, the units are brighter (more windows and more sunlight), and there's not a highway off-ramp 100 feet away. All this plus the fact that we won't be living underneath the substation's power lines any more makes me a happy camper.

I still dread moving, but in this case I think it's gonna be worth it.

Oh, yeah- did I mention the new place has just been wired for Verizon Fios (fiber optic internet)?

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

1. My dear Prisoner_Number_Six!
Oh, how good!

And Fios! It is the best...we have that here!

But wait! Will I still be able to call? I'd sure miss those conversations...

I don't want to intrude, after all...

:(

I tried to time it with the ending of my lease here.

3. If you're sub-metered for water and sewer...
You might get to talk to me if you ever have to call about your bill so be nice LOL.

Good luck :hi:

5. The water & sewer will be on the house (so to speak).
Plus, we'll have our own water heater, as opposed to the communal boiler we have here.

7. Ahh...the "communal boiler"
"You mean I'm having to pay for everyone else's hot water?"

If I had a penny for as many times as I hear that in a week I'd be able to double my salary.
