Because I love you, DU (and DUers), and because the Beatles retrospective is on VH1, |
|
I want to share this with you. This is MY "fab four" - my kid on lead vocals. Their first big cover, and of course, it's a Beatles song! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GN-s8legyTsEnjoy!

They're rascals but I love 'em. It feels like an extended Cub Scout den meeting, only we're not making pine car racers!

|
but they were terrific, particularly your son. Quite a voice-- he's going places!

5. I appreciate that, especially since the download part was a pain in the ass. |

Thank you for enduring that part of it! I know it can get really annoying. And I'm so glad you liked it! www.acidicband.com and/or their Facebook page - http://www.facebook.com/pages/ACIDIC/84816532571

Nitpick. Bitch. Moan.
That said, I like their version. I've heard some similar stuff done in the past that I was impressed with too. I heard a similar take on Paperback Writer once. . . very cool :).

I like the way they covered it, kind of a "Green Day does The Beatles" feel

9. Yeah, they played the song but interpreted it rather than merely replicating it. |
|
I was SO pleased. They hadn't performed it in the open before. I'd only heard them rehearsing it in their itty bitty claustrophobic rehearsal room in which they do pretty-much nightly band practice. They're quite serious about their musicianship.

I know you're proud of them :)
We do the same thing more or less, never play anything exactly like the album and just kind of let it flow. Last week we played a private party with a friend filling in for our other guitar player. The fill in guy plays with, among other groups, a 14 piece band called The Brady Orchestra that does several Beatles albums in their entirety including Revolver, Abbey Road, Sgt Peppers and The White Album. It was kinda cool every time we did a Beatles tune to hear him over there rattling off guitar parts that sounded exactly like the album.

14. Very good, tell them to keep at it |

My grandson started his band at 15, and it was mostly Beatles' cover songs. Now at 21 and writing all of his music he has played several times at Hard Rock in Orland and has been booked for House of Blues, and in Nov. will be the opening band for Marshall Tucker at Captain Hirams in Sebastin. Fl. Its a long hard road, but he is enjoying it. His band is called ONE.

Excellent cover, faithful but with their own interpretations. Great Musicians. I was visiting my insurance agent whose office is next door to the Canyon Club, and heard their soundcheck! I would have intorduced myself if I had made the connection! For the future Acidic=calimary :)
