Had a pedicure today and she found a lump on bottom of my foot - Plantar Fibromatosis
I came home and googled 'lump on the bottom of my foot' and found this:

has anyone else had this?

Don't worry, I am going to the doctor to check it out, I just want some input.

thanks!

1. You have a wart.
Can become painful if it's on a pressure point. Let the doc deal with it.

4. Just last week I was diagnosed with plantar fasciitis
Edited on Mon Sep-14-09 11:59 AM by nuxvomica
It feels like something hard on the sole just behind the ball of the foot but there's nothing visible on the surface. It can hurt like hell but the inflammation will come and go. The podiatrist told me to just get a padded insert and replace my shoes as soon as they get more flexible in the middle. He said that when I was younger, the condition wasn't as common because shoes were stiffer between the ball and the heel.

6. Read up about Morton's Neuroma. It is a painful foot condition.
Many on DU have posted about M's N and have offered their ways of coping with it.

I have this problem and have been told I have 2 options, one is surgery, the other is to wear inserts in my shoes. Had bad luck with custom made inserts, too rigid. I bought several types if insoles and found Profoot Care 2oz Custom Insoles to be the best. WalMart sells them for about $5.00 a pair. I have them in several pair of shoes and in my slippers.

They have arch support and a nice cushion for the ball of the foot.

Good luck.
