Good morning Lounge
How are you today?

I worked again last night. I was home at 11pm. Turned on the TV and watched a bit of the game Federer vs. Del Potro. Guess Federer wasn't at his best. Congrats to Del Potro.

And then I heard this morning that Patrick Swayze died. May he rest in peace. In his memory here the song he sang in "Dirty Dancing" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yfg97-5uhFQ (She's like the wind). I love this song.

Picture of the Day (at the cemetary Père Lachaise in Paris)

1. Good morning!

I hope you're doing well today. :loveya:
It's sad about Patric Swayze he's been sick for a while. He has family here in Houston. I used to work with his uncle. If I remember correctly he called him "Buddy".

That is a beautiful sculpture! Thank you for sharing that! :hi:

2. Good morning Allen
:hi:  :loveya:

I am doing fine. I am not even tired at the moment ... go figure.

Yes, it was to be expected, still it is sad. His movies were part of me growing up (Dirty Dancing, North and South, To Wong Foo). And he was way too young to die.

I love old cemeteries. The sculptures there are interesting and beautiful.

3. Good morning Miss Honeychurch.

:hi: :loveya:

I am not really awake yet, but my sleep was disturbed by a small furry somebody who is now trying to get on the laptop...

I watched the Federer match too and thought Del Potro played wonderfully, though it seemed as though they rushed him off the court rather abruptly at the end. Altogether, that was one of the weirdest Opens I have ever seen.

Very sad about Patrick Swayze; he was only 57. I lost a good friend to that disease just under two years ago.

Thanks for the song. I love that song too.

Now there are two furries in here, but I am going to try to get another hour or so of sleep.

:hi:  :loveya:

Are you awake now? Or still sleeping with furries?

I felt that Del Potro was very liked by the visitors yesterday.

Sad about Patrick Swayze. :(

Slept later than I normally do, yesterday was a busy one. Today should be more of the same.

Busy means I get out more. I like busy. :)

5. Good morning MissH!
Yes, it's sad about Patrick Swayze. He was so gracious.

I got up a little earlier than usual to make some cold cucumber soup for my book club this evening. It really smells good and I want to eat it now.

You're not tired and you worked until 11:00 p.m. last night? Hmmmmm . . . I suspect that you'll be laying you head on your desk about mid-afternoon for a quick snooze. ;)

German word of the day (Das Wort des Tages):

der Rechtschreibreformstau -- spelling reform logjam, stalling on spelling reforms

der Reformstau -- reform logjam, stalling on reforms

Note: Rechtschreibreformstau is a term used in an article in the Wall Street Journal (Aug. 11, 2004) by Konstantin Richter on the recent heated debate in Germany about Rechtschreibreform. The word Reformstau was chosen as the Wort des Jahres (German Word of the Year) in 1997.

RELATED: die Reform - reform, der Stau/die Stauung - traffic jam, blockage, logjam, die Stauanlage - dam

16. G'day, MissH!
:hi:

Took the day off and ran 5 miles (8km for you metric types) and I need to do that more often. I was tired for hours after that.

How was the family visit?

:wow: that is quite an accomplishment, esp. for me who I am a lazy bum. But I started to lose weight nevertheless. I eat less and more healthy.

My family is coming Thursday. Ask me again next week :)

21. This weekend
is the big wisit. I know you'll have much fun seeing them.

You don't have to run far, walking for 30-45mins is good, 60mins is better. Glad you're feeling better.

I sprouted the grain for another mini-batch of amaranth beer. I won't split it like last time, and it should work better. Prep time should be less than 3 hours, since I've done it before.
