Good morning Lounge
How are you today?

Today is my last work day this week :woohoo:

Tomorrow morning I can sleep in a bit before I start getting my condo ready for my family visit. The last couple of days were very long with working both jobs.
Yesterday I had a customer here at the library who was so presumptuous, it is unbelievable. After she finished reading her books here, she comes into the office. Stands behind the computer from a co-worker and looks at the screen. Then asks "What is this?" I told her it is none of her business, it is non-public. She then says very loud and annoyed "Excuse ME!!" and stomps off :wow: She is now my number one "favorite" customer. I am still in shock over this behavior.

Picture of the Day

PS: I just did spell check. None of the words were written wrong :bounce:

1. Good morning
I should be going to sleep soon. I ended up drawn into late-night programming. The Ed Show, Daily Show/Colbert Report, then The Soup, and now I'm watching Bill Maher stand-up. Nice to see you. :hi:

4. Good Morning MissHoneychurch
I'm tired and going to bed soon. I hope your day off goes well :)

I have a friend in Germany that just loves her IKEA for her apartment. I don't remember if she did her kitchen through them or not, but I was always impressed with the idea of non-built-in cabinetry and counters. Although I've never had a place where I could redesign the kitchen, I have figured it would be great to take your $10,000 kitchen with you when you moved. So, I've liked the concept ever since I saw IKEA kitchens were done the same way. The apartment/condo supplies the connections and you supply everything else :)

It doesn't seem to be a concept that's used in this country...

So, what are we looking at in that lovely photo?

10. Good morning kentauros
:hi:  :loveya:

I bought some furniture at my condo by IKEA (bed, closet, TV table). Depending on the quality, they are useful. The hardest part are to put the furniture together.

But I never bought my kitchen at IKEA. But at hardware stores and then you had to put the cabinets together yourself too. Now in my new condo there was a kitchen in already, so I sold my old one. Could have taken it with me though too.

You know, there are pluses and minuses to both versions. Built in closets and movable closets.

The picture was taken in Prato, Italy :)

35. The desk I'm using is from IKEA.
Basically, just a slab with four metal posts for legs. It suits my purposes for now. The rest of my IKEA stuff consists of five sets of shelves. I need to get one of those tall & skinny CD/DVD shelves, too :)

I can understand there being minuses to non-built-in, too. You just don't see even the option of it over here. Not sure why...

Well, I'm staying up now. Doing laundry instead of sleeping ;)

Ahh ... you mean the Billy shelves. I have two of the CD shelves. Pretty usefull.

If you are done with your laundry come on over to my place. I am sure I find something for you to do :)

48. I'm sure you would find something for me to do
:P

However, I have seven boxes of books in my car awaiting my delivery to the post office, and two more boxes of miscellaneous stuff here. All is going to my past-wife (recently created ex ;)) and I'll be rid of that stuff in my life. We're still friends, but I need to get her remaining stuff out of here so I can get my accumulated stuff in order, too.

Not having built-in closets would take some getting used to, but not too much. I love a good armoir :)
Now, I'd go so far as to have an IKEA house so I could pack it up and take it with me, too :D

55. Well, I even tried copying the image address into another tab
and still got nothing. Don't worry about; it happens sometimes, especially as I use Opera. (Oh, now it shows up when I hit "preview". Typical!) That's a beautiful armoir! Are the side doors for hanging things or is it more shelves? I'm only familiar with them for clothing, so it's cool to see the glass doors and bookshelves :)

In the book "The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe" the opening is inside the wardrobe. In other books, it changes to a painting, some magical rings and even a train car.

57. That's a good way to do the DVD shelves.
They don't need to be in open shelves for all to see, unlike the show-off books :)

Was it always meant for shelves, or did you convert it, or buy it converted? I'm just not aware of an armoir for anything but clothing. Then again, I don't know a lot about specialized furniture, either...

You're lucky to not be tired. I am really dragging this morning. I may have to get a second (or third) cup of coffee.

41. Let's see
one is called "From Jerusalem to Graceland" and it's about early Christian saints and comparing how they are worshiped with how people treat Elvis. Considering that I'm not Christian and I know next to nothing about Elvis, this class is really a stretch for me. It's the one I'm more nervous about.

The other class is "Ways of Seeing" and it's about how/what people see and how they understand what they see. I think it will mostly be about perspective. It's taught by the same professor I had in the spring, and I'm kind of really excited about it. It looks like it will be a lot of fun, and there are several smaller papers rather than one huge one, which is a lot easier for me to handle.

Did you mention if you were doing something fun tonight since you are off?

No plans for tonight. Going groceries shopping after work and then home. Maybe doing some more in the household so that I don't have too much left to do tomorrow.
Also, the new season of "Desperate Housewives" starts today on German TV.
