1. Mexican food or Chinese food?
2. Who is your favorite singer/songwriter who started out in the last 20 years?
3. What do you like most about fall?
4. Coin flip or rock/paper/scissors?
5. What's your favorite pizza topping?
My answers:
1. Mexican, but I also like non-spicy Chinese
2. Tie - A Fine Frenzy and Kay Hanley (Kay started around 1990 and has been solo for a while now). Their styles are different but just as good. Very hard category for me, but I can answer it.
3. Cooler weather, football, leaves turning, holidays coming..
4. I prefer coin toss to determine outcome
5. Pepperoni

1 - Mexican. Spicy rules.
2 - This is really tough to answer, and after I post this I'm sure to think of others. And I don't think I listen to anyone who is a singer anyways lol. Songwriter maybe, though mot in any traditional sense. Plus, I just realized that almost all my top bands are older than 20 years. Damn, I'm old. There are probably better choices, but off the top of my head I'm going to go with Miko Aspa, whose work in Deathspell Omega still has me wondering what the Hell is happening, and I've been into them since 2002. Musically and lyrically they are simply like nothing else I've heard. And you know me and music...I've heard a lot. :)
3 - Hockey, cooler weather, football, Halloween...in that order.
4 - Coin flip.
5 - Sausage.

The singer/songwriter question was hard for me since I love singer/songwriter type music. On the male side, I'd choose Josh Ritter and Sufjan Stevens, but I might be forgetting some. As a group, the New Pornographers are up there with the best.
What's your favorite kind of Mexican? I love the Vegitarian Suprema and the California Burrito from Tortugas.
Have a great day! :hi:

1. Mexican
2. God, who knows? Neko Case and Beck both sprung immediately to mind, but I'm sure there's a ton of others I could mention if I thought about it.
3. Fall? What's that? I live in South Florida. We only have one season.
4. Not sure. Tell you what, let's flip a coin.
5. I like veggie supreme, but that is, of course, a combination of several toppings to create an overall effect. If I can only have one topping, I go pepperoni.

1. Mexican.
2. I don't know, really. I'm stuck in the past with classical music, CCR, BB King, Bonnie Raitt, Willie Nelson, etc. I wouldn't mind learning about new artists. Any good streaming Internet music sites I could sample?
3. A bit cooler, beautiful colors, Halloween.
4. Rock/paper/scissors.
6. Veggies - probably green olives and/or mushrooms.

1. Chinese generally, but we have a REAL Mexican restaurant in town that has redefined Mexican peasant food for me.
2. Andra Moran, probably.
3. Cool weather, crisp morning, the smell of leaves, the shorter days, cooler mornings, wearing flannel, the color of the leaves, the sounds and smell and sights and the feel of it all, apples, hot apple cider with cinnamon, making soup and hearty meals, and the fact that it isn't summer.
4. rock/paper/scissors/LIZARD/SPOCK. Rock/paper/scissors is for physics losers.
5. Cheese and meat and hot peppers and onions and mushrooms and more cheese and more meat and some black olives

13. Five mid-week answers |
|
1. Mexican food or Chinese food? - I love Chinese, don't much care for Mexican at all.
2. Who is your favorite singer/songwriter who started out in the last 20 years? - Éric Lapointe, but he's probably my choice because of homesickness. Truth be told, I could probably think of 20 from 1970-1988 I prefer over anyone from 1989-present.
3. What do you like most about fall? - The passing of summer heat.
4. Coin flip or rock/paper/scissors? - RPS, just because it's fun to see what your opponent comes up with.
5. What's your favorite pizza topping? - Italian sausage.

Let's see, now...
1. Mexican food or Chinese food? Definitely Chinese. My favorite flavor melds occur in Asian cuisine.
2. Who is your favorite singer/songwriter who started out in the last 20 years? I love singer/songwriters in the Americana/Roots genre but all the ones I really love have been at it longer than 20 years, I'm sure. The only one I can think of that's been at it maybe about that long is Corinne West or maybe Don Conoscenti but I'm pretty sure Don's been at it a wee bit longer.
3. What do you like most about fall? The cooler, crisper air.
4. Coin flip or rock/paper/scissors? Coin toss, I guess. LOL
5. What's your favorite pizza topping? Marinated artichokes. :9

1. Chinese, non-spicy. I love spicy food and Mexican, but I can't eat that because I have ulcers.
2. If I have to pick one, Tori Amos.
3. Halloween
4. Rock, Paper, Scissors
5. It would have to be white pizza (without tomato sauce) because of the ulcers. Ham chunks.

1 - Chinese. Nothing beats a good potsticker.
2 - Beck. He reinvents himself with every album, and his music transports me. I think too many people focus on his religion.
3 - Camping. The days are still warm and the nights are cold enough to make a campfire perfect.
4 - Coin flip.
5 - Bacon, Sun-dried tomatoes, artichoke hearts
