LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – Jay Leno's new prime-time chat and comedy TV show lost more than 7 million viewers on its second night after a slew of bad reviews but was still the No. 1 U.S. network show of the night, audience ratings figures showed on Wednesday.

"The Jay Leno Show" -- the closely watched cost-cutting experiment by NBC -- was watched by 10.7 million Americans on Tuesday night, compared to a revised 18.4 million on its Monday debut, according to Nielsen Media Research.

Leno's move from his former 11:30 p.m. time period to the prime-time slot five nights-a-week that is traditionally occupied by expensive scripted drama is being scrutinized by the entire network TV industry as it struggles to cut costs and retain audiences.

General Electric Co's NBC network has been particularly hard hit and has been in last place for four years among the leading four networks.

Most TV critics slammed the new show after its Monday premiere, saying it was tired and old and failed to live up to the media hype of the past two months.

2. I had it on last night to catch Michael Moore.
That show just isn't funny. Maybe I caught it on an off night, but I don't think I got even the slightest chuckle out of any of it.

I've hated him since the beginning. He's just a pompous fat pasty-white prick.

4. I still don't get the point of this show
It's the Tonight Show, except in prime time. Why is this a big deal again?

6. It's completely different
There's no desk! Yeah, you heard me. There is no desk! Which has never been done before in talk television. Wait...

I can see it now. In 2019, Jay Leno will announce he's retiring and Conan will take over the coveted 10pm slot. Everyone else (Fallon and Carson Daly) will move up an hour and Carrot Top will take over Carson's old 1:30AM slot. Then two months later Leno will debut at 9pm. :banghead:

NBC. All Talk, All the Time.

9. I wanted to watch Michael Moore last night
so I recorded it.

I was sitting there with my mouth open when Michael Moore said, "they told me backstage I had to do something for you in order for you to show my clip, so I agreed to sing".

Seriously?

Michael Moore had to humiliate himself in order for them to show a clip from his movie? I had to fast forward through the singing part.

Am I the only one that saw that and thought that would be the last time I watched that show?

There was seriously nothing funny about that show.
