I guess I do know what I believe and I will "fight" for it but I'm not terribly aggressive, at least not in the abrasive, foul-mouthed sense that so many people tend to use to underscore their passions.

Still, this whole stick-poking thing does seem to have its virtues.

10. Perhaps I'm unfair to him in my thread...

...he isn't criticizing, just teasing.

He teases about my "pacifist ways." In particular we stood at a store for the better part of an hour waiting to return a dress he bought for me but was too small (which is sweeter? the gift or the assumption you're extra-skinny?). It was very obvious that clerk had no intention of exchanging or refunding. The clerk was racing around seemingly quite busy and would not attend to us and taking other customers ahead of us at the register. He wanted to just "lay into" the clerk and I could tell he was getting quite furious as his face tends to turn beet red during moments of high emotion. I've seen him give people a dressing down in the past and he makes that drill sergeant in Full Metal Jacket look like a piker.

I stuck to my guns...my calm, dispassionate guns...and simply out-stalled the clerk who affected an exchange. Later we debated (he never seems upset with me, he says I relax him) whether or not getting upset would have been worth the 30 to 45 minutes we could have saved if we had boisterously demanded the clerk attend to us. He knows what I want peace in the world to be so he teases me about unicorns.

Ironically, he did see me blow-up at someone who wouldn't take "no" for answer and in the process told me he'd be a much better "f***" than my BF. Luckily the BF was in the bathroom at the time or it could have been a fight but I launched to inform the brute that I was not on this earth to service him as mere chattel, I'm my own person and he wasn't worth my sefl-respect. As it was it almost turned into a fight when the BF came back and saw me yelling at the idiot. I kept butting in-between the two of them because I wasn't done yelling yet and finally the guy retreated.

It was then my BF dubbed me "Nuclear Unicorn".
