Please let us share our neighborhoods -
This is historic Newburgh - where DU'er mdmc lives (and is running for city council on the Working Families Party line).
I live in an inner city with a huge ghetto - yet I can walk to coffeshops, eateries, bars, a gift shop, a movie theatre, and an art gallery. Washington's Headquaters is across the street -http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Washington's_Headquarters_State_Historic_Site and many local "Main Street" shops have opened recently.

(Washington's HQ is across the street from my flat)

the Wherehouse is one block north of my flat

Cafe Machiato is kitty corner from my flat..

Newburgh Art Supply is south of my flat, across from Washington's HQ

The Terrace Lounge is one block south of my flat..

Newburgh Artisans (fair trade gift shop) is right behind my flat on Ann Street

(looking west)

(looking east)
I am two blocks south of Broadway

There is much more (the waterfront, Downing Park, the Opera, the Boat House, OCCC and MSMC, the Library, and so on).. This is Newburgh NY!

6. The Hudson River never looked better.
Your post would make a good campaign flyer. Good luck on the election.
