5. If you rinse them and use a brush first, they don't.
My brother-in-law throws dishes with dried on/baked on food right in the dishwasher - they never get clean. Of course, he also thinks that all stove-top cooking should be done with the heat/flame on maximum.

7. I use my dishwasher about once every 6 months
It doesn't matter how crusted the plates are, they come out squeaky clean every time. It also washes my gimme caps.

And yes, one side or the other always has dishes in it. I have to have one sink empty so I can get water for the dogs.

8. I guess i am the wench
Cause I generally do them and don't mind, although not always quickly. I do them thoroughly though.

In fact, it's a pet peeve of mine when I notice people who do not wash the back/bottom of a dish. Seriously. Do they not get that the ones stacked below it then get dirty?

15. DIshwashers get the dishes clean. Hand washing doesn't.
Dishwashers have heating coils that go to 160 degrees Fahrenheit.

Hot tap water is 110-120. That won't kill germs.

16. I am DEFINITELY no Martha Stewart (although I do enjoy watching her show).
I hate housework. I'd rather plant a garden, work in the yard amidst the triffids and the biting/stinging things, and giving the neighbors a show when I get bit by the biting/stinging things.

But, the truth is I haven't found a sucker (ahem, I mean treasured precious dear mate in life) who'll do all my housework for me. So, what gets done I have to do it...except dishes.

I hate cooking, but I do it. I hate all household duties, except cleaning my bathtub before I take a bath, but I still do what I have to do.

I'll wash the dishes when I have to, and ONLY when I ABSOLUTELY have to, though. The rest of the time, I keep a strong memory of some kitchens I once saw on Home Time and pretend those pristine masterpieces are my kitchen and the thing I walk through is just a place where I keep my Dr Pepper and ice.

29. Hand wash all the way, dishwashers NEVER get'em clean.....
My dishwasher anyway, the thing is brand new too although it doesn't do what it's supposed to do. If you want something done right you have to do it yourself, the dishwasher always leaves food on the plates and if it's not food then it leaves the grease on them. Hand washing is the only way I can ensure they get clean all the way because the dishwasher just won't do it.

and I don't get why some people rinse off the dishes and then put them in the dishwasher, whats the point? You'd might as well just wash them by hand, by rinsing them off first you're basically doing both, hand washing and using the dishwasher.

Anyways, that's from my experience, I guess my dishwasher just sucks. The only thing it's good for is to be used as drying rack for the dishes I wash by hand, it actually works great for this because it's right next to the sink. :P
