Received bad news about my friend with breast cancer..........
After 6 chemo treatments (18 weeks), the doctors found that the tumor has shrunk very little and has in fact metastasized. Now she is looking at radiation, possible continued chemo, lymph node removal and a partial to full mastectomy. I'm crying here.

GET WELL MARIE!!!!!!!!!!!

3. That's tough
for sure. I never mourned as much as I did when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Had those sucker lopped off, and 7 years later, here I am (knock on wood).

It's hard. Best wishes to your friend, and so glad she has someone like you to stand with her. If she needs someone who's been through it, let me know. I'm glad to talk with her about it.

Peace.

6. Thanks for the support...........
Her husband is having minor medical problems right now as well, so he's an understandable mess. They've got a huge stable of friends, so support-wise, so they're good.

This has just been a bad year for me and my clan: I had an uncle die a few weeks ago of liver disease, one of my best buddies lost his father to cancer back in May, another buddy of mine is struggling to care for his grandmother who has Alzheimer's, and now this scary saga continues.

7. Yeah
Other than the inauguration of Obama, 2009 has pretty much sucked. :)

Hang in there. Things will get better.

15. Oh no!
My cousin has survived breast cancer, but had to go in and have surgery again because of some horrible, very rare complication of mastectomies.

Good luck for your friend.
