I took today off to take Trotsky to the vet. Nothing's wrong just time to meet his vet. He was "fixed" and had all his shots when we adopted him so he hadn't seen one yet.

I brought him in and EVERYONE at the vet made over him. There was much purring and kissing. But another patient parent heard us say his name and went off on me.

"How dare I..." "Do I actually know who...." (I do, I'm a History teacher)"What sort of American am I?" It was so weird that even the vet techs asked him to leave.

1. yes, we all have an inhrerent right to each others conversations

and deciding the names of each others pets.

2. Good for the vet techs. I have no problem turning to people

who wish to butt in on my conversations and telling them their opinion is not requested--and it usually works.
