2. Evan Williams. 1.75 L for $20!

WOOOOOOO!

Actually, since I drank single malt scotch last week, this stuff is tasting a bit plain. If I'm looking for respectable bourbon, I like Wild Turkey, and I love their rye. If I have more money I switch to Knob Creek or Irish Whiskey, maybe scotch.

Evan makes a nice highball though.

9. Get a bottle of Woodford Reserve, a glass, and some ice.
That's all you need.

4. Hmmm. I wonder how a brandy old-fashioned would taste.

11. I did a blind 7-way test with bourbon about 3 years ago.
I started drinking bourbon (like a lot of people) with Jim Beam, then went to Jim Beam Black, then Makers Mark, then Knob Creek, then Basil, then Booker's (with Makers Mark being my "everyday" go-to bourbon).

I got to talking with a buddy about bourbon and how it's the most fantastic thing in the whole universe, and he asked if I had ever tried Evan Williams. I was like, sure, in high school, and he said try it again. I went and got a bottle and was knocked out on how great it tasted.

I got my wife to set up a blind test with all of the ones listed above, and Evan Williams won out. Thinking it was a fluke, we tried it again, and the results were the same.

I now only buy Evan Williams for me, but keep bottles of Basil and Knob Creek handy for my snobby friends (a group which gets smaller every year).

Love,

An honorary Kentuckian
