I gave a Homeless Guy $10.00 today while laughing my ass off.
First:In the intersections, around where I live, there's always lots of people holding signs up asking for money.
like: save the Pets...save the whales and of course Save the Children.

The "Save our Children" group was at 66th st today. (I have no idea what they do or who really gets the money)

As I drove by and caught the light at 67th st I noticed a Homeless Guy (VERY grubby) with a cup and sign that said:
"Save our Cockroaches" LOL!
I gave him the money for Originality!

4. We have a guy in Key West
who has a sign, "I need $1.85 for a beer".

He makes a fortune.

7. There are a bunch of sites with pics of "funniest homeless signs."

Lots of repeats, but you get the idea.

Not to sound cold, but I stopped giving away money for originality ten years ago or so. Lots of these guys make a fortune and pay no tax, I don't always know which ones they are, and I'm not going to willingly subsidize anyone who makes more takehome pay than me. My girlfriend's best friend works at a bank in the Metro Center area of DC, and she says there are a couple homeless guys with low six figures in the bank, a number with five figures, and they're not paying taxes while I am.

Sure, some might actually need my help, but the pros are awfully good at making you feel sorry for them. I've closed my wallet to beggars for good.
