Rainbow the Cat (my mom's feral) has passed to the Rainbow Bridge |
|
But TWENTY TWO YEARS!!!!! As a feral!
That's one hell of a run!
I once watched her kill a possum. She was a supercat if there ever was...
She wouldn't let you pet her, but she wasn't opposed to putting on a show for you either. Especially if there was food involved.
We used to leave kitty treats out for her, and she would kind of snap them up in the air with her paw and chase them.
Also, back in the 90's there was a neighborhood serial cat killer. The psychopathic fuck killed all of her brothers and sisters but not her.
She is an ubercat....All hail Rainbow!

1. She must have had some good loving - ferals rarely live that long |
|
I took care of a feral about 15 years ago. She was this black cat that lived outside of our apartment and we were not allowed to have pets. So I paid to have her fixed and fed her for about 10 years but ultimately she just disappeared one day. Never new what happened to Arielle (that was her name) but she was a sweet cat. I wish I could have kept her.

3. Well she did have food waiting for her every day, and we spayed her |
|
Not sure how much of that she understands...we would talk to her. She looked like she was listening.
But at the same time, it could have been good genetics.

4. I love that kind of cat |
|
My Sadie was a queen b**ch type too...She kicked a lot of cat (and dog and raccoon and skunk, etc.) ass. She was very sweet and affectionate with humans she deemed worthy though (luckily I was one of them). She died a week ago today at age 17.... RIP Uberkitties

5. It was kind of funny when she killed the Possum |
|
The possum had attacked her, and she was cornered. My mom saw this and ran out screaming - which made the Possum turn its head and then Rainbow jumped on the Possum and it was all over...
