Does anyone else here really kinda LIKE "Touched by an Angel"?
I know, it's strange. But I always sort of liked the show back in the 90s.

I kinda liked Monica, especially at the end when she would reveal that she was "an angel, sent by GAWD," with the backlighting and all. I also liked the "Angel of Death" character, some guy and he'd always come late in the episode and put his arm on the person and go for a walk with them. Nice. Really comforting, in a way.

Della Reese was great too. I liked the way she would bitch about how she couldn't understand why God would put her and other angels in these difficult situations and then Monica would point out that they had to follow His wisdom.

I know, pap for the masses. So shoot me...

1. Yes! I'm watching it right now! I love it!
The first time I saw this show, also back in the 90's, I was in a financial situation that had me frozen with fear.

Watching that first episode was truly a real-life "Touched by an Angel" moment for me. That show made me feel so much better; reminded me of my faith in God... took away a lot of the fear.

Yes, I say all this unabashedly.

7. I must admit that I was in the same predicament with my job. My boss had bipolar disorder
and didn't take her meds. I never knew which Diane I would encounter at work the next day. She either brought in bagels and flavored coffee for me or froze me out. Needless to say, I was in a bad situation. The show had a calming effect on me and I allowed myself to cry during some of the episodes...

4. I always thought there should be a dark spin-off called "Groped By An Angel."

Or "Inappropriately Fondled By An Angel."

8. Oh, it was over the top sentimentalism a lot of the time, esp. Monica.
She was hard to take, esp. when she lectured poor Della. Her first name was unfortunate, too, since I was watching the show during the height of the Lewinsky scandal...

6. Not really, but at a film festival I once saw a Thai movie
that had Buddhist figures intervening to help people.

I don't remember its real title, but I told people that it should be called "Touched by a Bodhisattva."

9. You mean like to watch Monica and/or hear Della Sing
I lov e Della's voice anyway. So it wasn't hard to get me watching. And I kind of had the hots for Monica anyway. Besides it was uplifting sort of.

11. I used to watch that show every week!
Many of the episodes made me cry. And I thought the Angel of Death (ironically played by a man named John Dye) was cute.

I likes 'em both, though a physiological condition will preclude me from ever looking as good as him...
