Why would my name be on my mother's credit card receipt? |
|
My Mom bought some stuff at the mall the other day and when she looked at her receipt my name was on it instead of hers. It's a card she has been using for years. I've never used her card. It's a completely different kind of card than the one I use. And, her name is the only one on the card.
Why would my name appear on her receipt?

1. This sounds like one of those brainteaser puzzles (you know, the surgeon is the boy's |

mother, the dead guy used a block of ice sort of things).
Perhaps you filled out a return slip or a store card application or something at a time when your mom actually paid, so they associate the cc# with your name? I'd imagine it's the store's computer that is confused, not the credit card company...
Weird.

7. We're both confused about it. |

She made the purchase at a store two states away while she was on vacation at a store I've never heard of. She used a Visa card too, and I've never had or applied for a Visa card in my life. I don't know what the deal is.

3. Is it a store where they ask for an address? |
|
Or a phone number? Its it a store where you have shopped? My name is on my parents safeway recipts, because we all still use the same phone number that we gave up at least 5 years ago.

8. Nowdays they are all chains |
|
Kroger is everywhere, under many names, for instance. That was my first thought, that perhaps it had nothing to do with the visa card, but with the stores database.
Alternatively, and not to be an ass, but do you both have the same name? cause that would make for a really easy explanation...
