1. Chinatown
The director appeared on screen just long enough to slice up Jack Nicholson's nose.

"The Pianist" would be my second choice.

7. That movie is totally insane
I didn't really like it the first time I saw it, but I watched it again after I was more in tune with Polanski's warped sense of humor and liked it much better.

17. Yes. Love it.
Bitter Moon is one of my favorites too. And of course, more serious, The Piano

22. Find another insult, will ya?
This one's losing it's impact because of drastic overuse here.

People who disagree with you are not by definition rape apologists.

24. Nah, this one works well.
He didn't have to respond. He's defending Polanski, therefore he's defending what he did.

If the shoe fits.....

25. No, it doesn't seem to be working quite so well.
I guess you're having fun throwing it around.

No defending, therefore. Total bullshit.

If you're having fun being in the black-and-white zone, no thinking required, more power to ya.

27. I will, thank you.
Because rape is a very black and white issue.

I'm sorry you don't see it that way.

28. Yeah, you're sorry all right.
Rimshot. Too easy.

"I'm defending a rape victim against a rapist, I have right on my side, you need to shut the fuck up now."

Yep, very black-and-white. No room for the real facts of the case.

Are you going to claim that Polanski did not drug and rape a 13 year-old girl?

30. Watch the damn documentary.
You're asking a loaded, leading question that once again ignores the real facts.

I guess you weren't here for my "When I was 24 I shot my brother" post. I have a very, very, very jaded opinion of our criminal justice system. I've never argued that what RP did wasn't wrong or repulsive. My problem is the CJ system that tried to fuck him.

That is all.

34. Oh, I agree there are issues on the way the case was handled.
But that doesn't change what he did or the fact that he fled from justice. I don't have a very high opinion of the CJ system at times myself but the this case is clear-cut. He will return to the States and face the consequences of his crimes.

And no, I didn't see your post about shooting your brother.

18. The Pianist - and Bitter Moon. Oh, and The Tenant
The Pianist is especially poignant if you've read Jerzy Kosinski and know about his and Polanski's past surviving Nazi Europe.
