I've had Coltrane's "Love Supreme" playing constantly for 2 days now |

I can't get enough of it - in fact when its not playing on my computer, its playing in my head...especially the beginning bass line that breaks into piano..... http://intothemusic.ca/images/uploads/covers/Coltrane,John-A-Love-Supreme.jpgIs there something wrong with me? http://intothemusic.ca/images/uploads/covers/Coltrane,John-A-Love-Supreme.jpg

3. It's probably my second-favorite next to "Kind of Blue." |
|
But Coltrane had so many great albums -- "Giant Steps," "Blue Train," etc. I have an eight-CD set of his Impulse label recordings -- totally worth the price.

9. Yes but there's just something about Love Supreme |
|
It's not like any album I've ever heard before - jazz, rock, classical - none of them!

5. The local jazz station played it last Sunday, making taht exact point |
|
I couldn't possibly recount everything the DJ said, but what he did say, and how he said it, about teh recording and what the music meant to Mr Coltrane... well, let's just say it shut the mouth of this loud atheist right the heck up!

13. That entire opening part is sublime |
|
The rest is beautiful as well, but that part that segues into the piano is probably as close to capturing heaven in music as we can get.
