Phooey, I have jury duty and I don't want to go. I just called and |
|
received confirmation that I have to appear. Years ago, I didn't mind but now I don't want to go. I canceled the first notice because they had scheduled it at a courthouse about 50 miles from me. Now I have no choice but to appear at a courthouse closer to home.
Things are happening at home that require my presence. I guess I'll have to leave notes. On top of other situations, I am still recovering from an allergic reaction to medicine prescribed for me that landed me in the ER 2 weeks ago. That plus restless leg syndrome will keep me fidgeting for the whole time I am there.
OK, rant over, thanks for listening.

3. No, see that's the beauty of the plan |

Judge vomits, you still get to go home. Judge takes the deal, you do a sting and get to go home. Everyone wins!

4. Can your doctor write a note for you |
|
saying that it is impossible for you to be on a jury?
It would be impossible for me to sit in a courtroom for any extended period of time because of constant pain. I need to be able to take heavy meds pretty frequently, and I am sometimes zoned out and disoriented, so there is no way I am medically capable of sitting on a jury. Especially if a jury needed to be sequestered, it would put me into the ER. Two of my doctors would write a note for me with no problem.
So talk to your doctor. Especially if you are still recovering from a drug allergy, that's not something you take lightly. :(
Whatever happens, be well.

5. I think it is too late for that. There is no phone # to call, I have to |
|
report at 8Am tomorrow. I will speak to someone there when I get to the courthouse but I bet it will be in vain. From what I hear, lots of people who are called do not show up. I'm sure they will put me on a jury just because they lack bodies. I can get a note after the fact if that would do any good. There is a warning on the notice that says if you do not show up, you are subject to a 200.00 fine. That is all I need!

8. I've always wanted to be called for jury duty, but never have been |
|
Of course if I ever was called, it would be inevitably be highly inconvenient and really complicate my life.
