anybody got an idea of how much road paving costs? |
|
I live kind of out in the country, and have a dirt/gravel driveway. With all the heavy rains we've received recently here in the south, navigating said driveway has become a losing proposition. I'd love it if I could get blacktop, or cement, put in, but I don't have the faintest clue what that would cost.
If this was several years ago, I could just call a relative who was a big-wig in county government, and it would've been taken care of for free. But that relative is no longer living, and I think the county has cracked down on that kind of thing anyway.
Does anyone know about how much it would cost to have a driveway about 200 feet long, and a little wider than a car to be paved?
Thanks.

1. From what I've been able to read about through google, it would cost about $8000... |
|
That could be accurate or it could be off my several orders of magnitude.

Maybe I'll just get a used 4-wheel-drive instead.

4. that's going to be a bare minimum |

the grading and surface prep alone are probably going to run over $10K. An annual load of crusher run spread over the "road" would be a better option.

at the end of the day...the stuff left over. I think that is how we paved our road. The guys who live at the top know some guys in the paving beusiness and they would dump the stuff at the end of the day on our dirt road and then the guys would spread it out.
