It has been announced at MSNBC.com that next year Disney will give 1 million volunteers a free day at a Disney park in either California or Florida. In order to qualify a person must be an American citizen and volunteer for at least one day. The program will be called "give a day, get a Disney day". It is likely only people in California and Florida will be able to participate in that anyone outside of those states will either have to drive or fly to those states to get the free day. In addition, for anyone outside of California and Florida it would most likely cost more to get to one of the Disney parks than the free day is worth. However, I think this is a good idea. It could possibly give people in California and Florida who had not thought about volunteering a reason to volunteer. After volunteering those people might realize they like volunteering and might continue volunteering. So, are any of the DUers from California and Florida considering volunteering next year just to get a free day at a Disney park?
