But yes, Baltimore also has Homicide:Life on the Street, as well as The Corner miniseries (which I still would like to see).

Not to mention the superb, outstanding, incredible and yet to be defeated Joe Flacco Show every Sunday afternoon during the fall. :)

To Kill a Mockingbird, although the book never specifies. It might be speculation based on the fact that Harper Lee was from Alabama.

Norma Rae was a movie set in Alabama

To tell you the truth, I cannot think of a single television show set in Alabama.

on edit: Just thought of a TV show. Although Malcolm in the Middle never specifies what state the family lived in, Frances was in Military School in Alabama. Does that count?

71. It really is...
I actually was using it as the book for this post , with the classic western Stagecoach as the movie (the stagecoach was on its way to Lordsburg New Mexico, even though the movie was actually filmed around Monument Valley Utah), but I actually never read the Milagro Beanfield War, only saw the movie. My old roommate at The University of New Mexico ( and still a good friend) had a bit part in it, as did a couple of other casual friends at that time. I need to rent it again, and see if I can still spot Dave in the 2 or 3 scenes ( if I remember correctly) that he's in. I thought they did a really good job of capturing the feel of those little villages up in the mountains of Northern New Mexico. ( It was filmed in and around Truchas I think).

Michener taught at Colorado State College (now University of Northern Colorado) in Greeley, and his research materials for the book were bequeathed to the Michener Library at UNC. The book is about the northeast part of the state, and much of the movie was shot in the immediate vicinity using locals as extras.

Edited on Wed Sep-30-09 10:42 PM by NNadir
These were all set in New Jersey. "IQ" was filmed here.

One night at the ice cream shop in Princeton when they were filming "IQ" we saw Meg Ryan.

We left her alone, because I would guess she just wanted to eat an ice cream and not be bothered by people saying "Are you Meg Ryan?"

They just made the "Transformers Part" (whatever) film here on the Princeton campus, but I don't know if it was set in New Jersey and I think I don't want to find out.
