EMERGENCY - Computer assistance needed immediately
I was working on a very important Word document when MS Word locked up on me. When I restarted it my document just evaporated ... no Recover Document message, no anything. Is it possible to recover it and if so how?

1. Look in this directory

C:\Documents and Settings\user\Application Data\Microsoft\Word\

replace 'user' with your Windows login.

2. Do a computer wide search for documents created today
if you don't find anything then I am afraid you are out of luck

3. Ran down to the office IT guy.
He was able to recover it.

Now, I need to go put on some fresh underwear.

4. Look for underwear in this directory

C:\Documents and Settings\user\Clothing Data\Microsloth\type\underwear

Just replace the word 'type' with 'fresh'

6. Did you have the file saved before your machine froze?
If so, try to open it. That usually starts up the doc recovery wizard.
