well Hell has frozen over :) and its a good thing
my cold weather hubby woke up and said

it is freezing my nuts off

and off to the store he went and the furnace is on and it is nice and toasty 5 hours sooner than I thought it would be...

maybe my warm blooded hubby is getting colder the older he gets :)

1. I still don't think it is very nice of him
that he only turns it on when HE gets cold.

Don't your feelings count at all?

3. it just got colder faster than we expected and he wanted to do the right thing
by cleaning up and changing the filter

he also wanted to have a month without an electric or gas bill

I can agree to that

2. Tell him it's too cold to knock boots
and your house will be at 85° before you can say 'knock boots.'

4. Aren't you the least bit interested in learning to change/replace the furnace filter yourself?

at my husband to turn on the furnace... even though I could do it myself. And I am a feminist.

I do usually vacuum it out, though. Well, until we got the new furnace...

17. Would you like to know why I responded strongly against it?
Women are often left alone in this world. Divorce, death of a spouse, etc. It is important we (women) learn to do things ourselves. Calling women like that names like "butch" or "ultra feminist" just perpetuates stereotypes that hold women back.

We need to be strong... you & I. Do you remember this old Helen Reddy song...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MUBnxqEVKlk

I was young when that song came out, but I hold it close to my heart.

Listen to it.

18. I am a strong woman...sometimes it pisses hubby off
I just reacted badly to the posts up thread

because I was trying to keep harmony in my house. I respect my husband and he wanted to wait.

I was bitching but ultimately had I really wanted to turn the heat on I would have and he would have grumbled a bit, but realized I was right

but some upthread were a bit much no?

19. Du gets out of control easily
I think both parties have something to say here. You admitted it yourself-- you have a lot to work out in your marriage. They responded like DU often does with a pile on. Somewhere in the middle there is a kernel of truth, no?

20. For some reason the minutiae of your daily life pisses people off.
You are not popular enough to get a pass.
