My radiator sounds like a dryer with a pair of sneakers in it. |
|
Or, a handful of quarters, I can't decide. Possibly both.
It's got that rhythmic sound of change being flung around in a dryer, but also the occasional thumbpathump of something too heavy

2. The ghost of quarters past. It's deff. not nickles. The sound is too 'ringing' for that, |

7. Surround it in a space blanket (mylar) |
|
and channel the heat up and out the window. Maybe a blanket around the radiator would muffle the sound some, too.

9. Actually what it has is water in it |
|
the steam hits the water and the water flashes into steam, creating the noise. Make sure the radiator hand valve is fully open and replace the air vent. That should solve the problem

14. Doesn't it depend on if it's a hot water system or steam system? |
|
Ours is hot water and it will get noisy when air gets into the system. We bleed the air out until water begins to come out.

13. We have to bleed the air out of ours occasionally. |
|
There's a little key for our radiators. I've never had it get really loud though, just annoying.
