Punish the media for not looking more closely at the parents' background before sensationalizing the situation. Punish ourselves for getting caught up in it.

But that little boy is six years old. From everything I've read, he did just what his daddy told him to do. No punishment for the little boy.

The voice of reason as usual, Heidi (though I know this thread is facetious and not meant to be taken seriously).

Although I quibble a little with punishing ourselves - I followed the story to the extent that I felt awful that a poor little kid might have suffered such a sad fate, and watched it unfold hoping for the best; which is why I imagine most people followed it. Which makes it doubly shameful on the part of the awful parents, who knowingly exploited people's goodwill and compassion for a crass, tasteless, and offensive publicity stunt.

The MEDIA should get a little quiet time to reflect on their stupidity, and the police should take courses on searching a garage.
