How come you don't see good combat flight sims anymore? |
|
Up until a few years ago, you could get good combat flight sims, but now there don't seem to be any. IIRC, the las good ones were IL2 and Pacific Fighters.

3. IL-2 and Pacific Fighters came out around 2003 or 2004, IIRC. |

Never could get the hang of flying with full realism, especially with the rotary engine planes.

4. They're doing up a BSG sim based on the Freespace engine. |
|
They've still only got a demo out. It's called Beyond the Red Line.

6. Yeah, I know and I'm looking forward to it. But the Freespace engine is like |

a hundred years old. Imagine what could be done with todays graphics and physics power. Imagine shooting the wing of a ship, or putting an actual hole in a capital ship, or even using the gravitational pull of a planet to whip around a bunch of ships....a guy can dream.
